This superb mansion, built in 1900, is one of the best examples of the rare neo-Jacobean style in New York City on the grand avenue of residences once known as "The Gold Coast." The mansion, which also is home to the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture since 1947 has overlooked magnificent Prospect Park in the residential area of Park Slope, Brooklyn and has the largest private garden in the City.
GRAND PARLOR Reached by a flight of stone steps flanked by lions, an arched entrance welcomes guests to step back in time. Surrounded by the opulence of mahogany wainscoting and custom designed Tiffany stained glass bay windows, enjoy an intimate birthday celebration or a gathering of family and friends for a wedding seating up to 100 guests. The polished wood floors welcome dancing to live music. The Grand Parlor, formally called the Marshall Dubin Meeting Room, is also perfect for all of your events.
THE GARDEN ROOM Formally called the Morning Room, is adorned with Tiffany stained glass windows, this sun drenched room, adjacent to the Grand Parlor, leads directly to the large Garden. Stepping out on to a blue stone patio, view the beautifully landscaped stately oaks, meticulously pruned shrubbery and flowers in the largest private garden in the city. Add a regal tent, and the grandeur is complete.
THE LIBRARY On the second floor the bay-windowed Henry Neuman Library is reached by a staircase whose balustrade is made of sword and bayonet scabbards, the only one if its kind in the United States. Tiffany stained-glass windows, wood-paneled walls, an intricate wood-carved ceiling and a marble mantel lend an intimate atmosphere for the bridal party to relax and prepare for their ceremony. The library is also available for conferences and lends an air of dignity to meetings.
