Ethical Action: "Brooklyn Uniting for a Better World" |
|
|
The Season begins with a renewed call to Ethical Action. We invite Brooklyn activist organizations and religious institutions to send delegations on Sunday September 29, to an afternoon workshop course at BSEC, led by Reverend Finley Shaef, a longtime leader in peace, justice, and environmental matters, and the former pastor at Park Slope United Methodist Church. The workshop offers an overview of key global issues that impact the human family, and introduces possible winning strategies we might use working together, combining the differing gifts and capacities of our Brooklyn-based communities. We can do better [at] what were doing with a sense of being part of a large movement with overall strategies and a shared understanding of the total picture. Working and thinking together will give us more hope. - Finley Shaef The workshop runs from 1:30 to 5:30pm. $10 will cover lunch and materials. Pledges to support future organizing may be made at the workshop or by sending a check to the BSEC Ethical Action Committee. Contact BSEC Ethical Action Chair Charley Horwitz for more information. |
