Colloquy: Is Voting Enough?

When: Sunday November 2, 12:30PM
Where: via Zoom only

In the spirit of community, connection, and exploring how we might live more ethically in a changing world, we invite you to join our upcoming colloquy: Is Voting Enough?

In this session we’ll create a safe, inclusive space for honest sharing and deep listening—beyond small talk, beyond slogans. Our hope is that every person’s story, question, and insight has a place, and that we leave with fresh perspectives on civic life and ethical action.

Why this conversation matters

Voting is a powerful act: a concrete means of influencing public policy, representing one’s values, participating in democracy. Yet many of us sense that democracy asks even more of us—more than “just voting.” What about ongoing engagement in our communities? What about the ways we live out the values behind our ballots in everyday life? What systems need our attention beyond election day?

In short: we’ll invite the question—not in order to answer it definitively, but in order to explore it deeply together. What responsibilities come with being an ethical citizen today?

What to expect

  • A facilitated circle of sharing, with guidance by our trustees Lujira and Vandra.

  • Everyone invited to speak, everyone invited to listen. No prior expertise required—just curiosity, openness, and presence.

  • The opportunity to reflect on our roles as individuals, as members of communities, and as participants in larger civic and ethical systems.

  • A chance to connect with others who care about living thoughtfully, acting justly, and engaging in democratic life.
