Changing the World Using Social Media

Social media is changing the way we communicate, the way we are perceived, and the way we understand life. Although social media has been used for bad, we can and should use it for good. From educating millions in seconds to generating support globally with a few clicks. Let’s spread a message of respect, caring, and action to all and truly make a more humane world (both real and virtual).

Emily Newman is the Education Coordinator at the American Humanist Association’s Center for Education and Communications Coordinator at the American Ethical Union. She holds a BS in psychology and creative writing as well as an MA in professional writing from Carnegie Mellon University. Emily grew up in Ethical Culture and has been active with the Future of Ethical Societies, National Ethical Service, and Young Humanists International. Over the years, she has assisted local nonprofits and small businesses with social media, design, events, website development, and marketing.

Reusable Solutions ( Zero Waste) with Ben Kogan

Reusable Solutions ( Zero Waste) with Ben Kogan

“Reusable Solutions” – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. It’s phrase we’ve heard over and over but there are currently minimal convenient options for reusables. There are approximately 20,000 members of these organizations in NYC alone which hopefully will prove to be the early adopters to help bring reusables to the mainstream. Reusable Solutions aims to change that by promoting reusable and companies through the existing environmental and municipal organizations.

Ben Kogan is a professional touring musician and educator, climate activist, zero waste advocate and new dad that has been living in NYC for 12 years.
