Evening On The Green New Deal @ Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture

When Alexandria Ocasio Cortez proposed in the House of Representatives a Bill, THE GREEN NEW DEAL, as road map for a healthier, more democratically cooperative, equal and kind, American political economy, a possible vision built on a century’s worth of activism was born, and many of us took notice.

The conversation amongst neighbors about these issues kept expanding and has grown to become the Windsor Terrace/Park Slope Neighbors for a Green New Deal Planning Committee, committed to building out our own understanding of these issues as they apply to our lives here while taking a healthy look around our neighborhoods and figuring out from a block/neighborhood perspective what can be done in Windsor Terrace and Park Slope to make it a better place.

You are a member of Windsor Terrace/Park Slope Neighbors for A Green New Deal if you live here and we need you to join with us in building out a collaborative effort to make our homes and blocks better places for all its residents to live.

The Sunrise Movement is a nationally organized mass movement committed to the activism necessary for a successful transformation to a Green New America in 10 years. (SunriseMovement.org)
Co-sponsored by the Ethical Living Committee of the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture.

What Forgiveness Looks Like
Aug 4 @ 11:00 am
What Forgiveness Looks Like @ Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture

What Forgiveness Looks Like is a beautiful piece with an amazing variety of artists that also supports a cause and changes lives. The show depicts what forgiveness looks like to different children after tragedy strikes in their lives. The founder of JungleDom, Simba Sandra Yangala was inspired to write the show by four children who live in the Congo, whom she supports spiritually and financially. These children have been abused in every sense of the word and will be represented as a Thinker, Dreamer, Singer, and Dancer. Proceeds from the show will be going to support the children’s visa fees, travel and allow them to have a life filled with opportunity and light.

Lucy was discovered in 1974 by paleontologists in Ethiopia. At that time she was the earliest known ancestor of the human species. This is why we call our group Lucy’s children.
