Family Art and Fun

Join us for 8 weeks of artistic fun with your family!

This class is designed with your whole family in mind. Kids and adults alike will get to flex their creative muscles as they work on a series of projects inspired by contemporary artists, both well known (Kara Walker) and not so well known (Stasys Eidrigevicius). Throughout the program we will explore a variety of materials and techniques, learning more about art making and about each other along the way. In addition to being creative fun, the projects are designed to encourage increased family collaboration week to week. Why? Because collaboration promotes communication and collective problem solving. What better place to hone those skills as a family than in a safe and comfortable environment while exploring creatively as a family?

Projects will be best suited for ages 5 to 105 and at any skill level.
Special needs families welcome.
All materials included.

The Instructor, Angel Thompson is an artist, educator, writer and mother. She is a seasoned teaching artist with over a decade of experience woking in communities throughout NYC. She is the co-author of Quick and Creative Art Projects for Creative Therapists with (Very) Limited Budgets. She is also a homeschool mom, loving the chance to learn together with her amazing 9yr old daughter.

This class is sponsored by the Ethics for Children Program at the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture.
Classes run Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30pm, January 28th until March 24th, excluding Feb 18th.
