Being Real: How to enter conversations across differences with authenticity and care

So often we avoid connecting with people we care about, who we also have differences with because we want to keep the peace or avoid conflict. Learn how to express yourself authentically and how to listen for meaning, even when you are hearing hard to hear messages.

This workshop walks you through a process using Nonviolent Communication (NVC) using tools of self-empathy, empathy and nonviolent dialogue that move you from silence to engagement in relationships where you feel like you haven’t been able to show up.

Presented by Leonie Smith, Founder, The Thoughtful Workplace

For more than 30 years Leonie Smith has been working from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive perspective. Her approach is shaped by her own commitment to anti-oppressive practices, her applied knowledge of nonviolent communication, and her people-centred approach for creating group, team, and organizational systems, all in service to creating a world that works for all.
