Open the Door: Possibility and the Human Spirit @ Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture

When we honor other people based on the immeasurable idea of worth, rather than on such measures as how they can be useful to us, we create more possibilities for our relationship with the other, for what we might elicit in the other by our actions, and ultimately, in ourselves.  Rather than closing doors, treating others as they might possibly be, and not just as they have been, will open doors for those others and for ourselves.  In this week’s platform talk, Interim Clergy Leader Jone Johnson Lewis will explore the ways in which we can open doors to new possibilities in our everyday actions — and in doing so, possibly help create a more humane world.

June theme: possibility.  What does it mean to be a person of possibility?  What does it mean to be a community of possibility?

We start the formal program at 11:00 and usually end about 12:30.  After that, we have a time of informal conversation with some beverages and snacks.  Please feel free to bring some snacks to share!
