We invite people from all backgrounds and ages to join us to talk about an often difficult subject. In so doing, we can lessen the fear and isolation that surrounds this inevitable event in everyone’s life.
Let’s create a safe place together where all ideas are welcome, all fears can be expressed, all hopes can be supported.

Notes from our December meeting
We had a dynamic conversation at the December Life-and-Death Discussion Group, covering a whole variety of topics. One member spoke of her experiences going into a coma twice and then recovering from them, leading to a powerful response from the group. On another theme, several participants said they believed they had communicated with deceased loved ones. We also discussed our fear of dying, balanced by reports from people who had known near-death experiences, reporting that their time in that other dimension was very beautiful. Our challenge, we concluded, might be less about dying well, and more about living well.
The group also talked of the stress of taking care of loved ones who are ill and the loneliness of dealing with their death. We discussed the difficulty of clearing our homes of unwanted possessions and the anxiety of moving from our long-term home to an independent living facility. This may be another form of near-death experience, we said, but it may also be a new form of living.
The Life and Death Group will meet again in-person and on Zoom on January 15th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm to discuss these topics and anything else participants bring up. We will send a reminder and a Zoom link on January 14th. Please join us.
