Beyond Land Acknowledgements

with Frances Grumbly and Anne Klaeysen

Frances Grumbly, enrolled member of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of Akwesasne and American Indian Community House Board Treasurer, and Anne Klaeysen, Ethical Culture Leader and Brooklyn Society Vice President, will have a conversation about Frances’ important work with Native American communities. They will also explore ways in which congregations and other local community groups can better support Native American New Yorkers and go beyond land acknowledgements.

Frances Grumbly is an enrolled member of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of Akwesasne currently living in Norwalk, Connecticut and is the Executive Director of the Ingrid Washinawatok El Issa Flying Eagle Woman Fund, which was established in 1999. Frances has been involved with the American Indian Community House since its inception in 1969 and works diligently for the community. She has served on the board for over ten years and is currently the Board Treasurer.
