Befriending Ourselves: Cultivating Self-Empathy

“You can look the whole world over and never find anyone more deserving of love than yourself.”
– Buddha

When people we care about are hurting, we’re often right there with love, compassion and support. Yet when we experience emotional pain, we may find ourselves entangled in a web of self-criticism, blame, shame and guilt, which leaves us feeling even worse. In this session, we will be introduced to some exercises that can help us cultivate self-empathy so we can nurture rather than punish ourselves.
