About this event

Give your child a joyful, values-centered start to the school year. Ethics for Children (EFC) at Brooklyn Ethical is a weekly program where kids explore big ideas—like empathy, community, and caring for the Earth—through art, theater, games, music, discussion, reflection, and action. This free trial class lets parents and families experience our approach, meet our educators, and see our community in action before enrolling.

  • Try a mini EFC lesson drawn from our five core principles: Caring for Self, Family, Community, Society (world community), and the Earth
  • Create, play, and collaborate through hands-on activities
  • Connect with new friends in a warm, inclusive environment

What parents & caregivers will do
  • Observe or mingle with staff and community members
  • Learn how our monthly Service Days empower kids to make a difference
  • Get answers to questions about schedule, curriculum, and enrollment

About Ethics for Children
EFC fosters empathy, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of self and others—without imposing a fixed set of beliefs. Each month includes a Service Day where students work together on a real-world project for the greater good.
