Nina Simone was a dynamic and influential artist still relevant today. Some of her most impactful songs include her version of “Pirate Jenny,” “Mississippi Goddamn” and” I Wish I Knew How It Feels to be Free.” She was a talented, creative, and outspoken voice during the Civil Rights Movement.

About the Speaker

Rita Wilson is a Brooklyn resident for more than sixty-two years. She has been a Brooklyn Ethical member for over thirty years. During that time, she was a Board Member and a founding member with Kim Brandon the of the Brooklyn Society Writers now called Wild Honey Writers Collective. She raised two daughters with her husband, and has two grandchildren, and two sons-in-law. She is an educator, writer, poet, author, a member of the National Action Network, and Savan Writers.
