The promise to escape suffering and death is often a set-piece of traditional religions, while confronting those has been the purview of warrior ethos. Humanism doesn’t offer a way out, but does it describe a way through? Different lenses offer their insights into the Promise of Humanism.

 

About the Speaker

Joseph Farkas has been a Humanist Chaplain and Celebrant for over a decade, completing his Master of Divinity through a Humanistic Buddhist university. Over that same time, he has served in the Army National Guard as a combat medic. Today, he is a Certified Ethical Culture Leader in Training in the Chicago area. When he isn’t furthering his professional work, he enjoys exercise and spending time with his wife and their dog.
