Rising to Change with the Power of Music
Ben Silver and DuPree. Presided by Rebecca Lurie.
We will join in song as community and with joy as we acknowledge that joy and music and art are acts of resistance! DuPree will lead us in sing-alongs that aim to build a collective repertoire at the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture. We will learn a song in ASL! And Ben will lead us in CircleSong sharing with us his gift of leading groups to uplift spirit and voice that help us face challenging times, struggles for justice, and deep love.
Ben is a singer, musician, songwriter, vocal arranger and teaching artist who’s been leading Group Singing, Vocal Improvisation and other workshops for decades. Until the pandemic, Ben ran a monthly CircleSinging series in Manhattan for over 9 years and a series in Brooklyn prior to that. His songs have been published in Carry It On, Sing Out Magazine, The Washington Post, and the book “Hearing Everyone’s Voice”.
